FAITH LOVE HOPE MAG x LFW
After the hectic week in London, the FLH team is finally back, and has collected a list of our favourite shows, locations, and pieces.
Must keep an eye on:
I. JU-NNA
The young fashion brand established by Jun Nakamura, is committed to the sustainability and survival of the ancient art form, Shibori.
Shibori, the Japanese technique of tie-dye, has been slowly losing artisans as they grow older without replacements, as a result of modernisation and shrinkage within the kimono industry.
JU-NNA is committed to creating a sustainable environment for Shibori to continue to survive in this modern world by integrating this traditional technique into modern designs. Jun draws inspiration from the real issue, portrayed by Japanese street photography.
Extremely tired, drunk, and done with work, models carry the “every day” attributes: newspapers, folders, coffee, and barely themselves, letting the viewer explore the idea of what often happens to an office employee in Japan.
II. Richard Quinn
The very first recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design draws inspiration from the concept “from a mother to a daughter,” thinking of the beautiful idea of receiving heritage in the form of clothing.
III. SYKY
A community-driven platform at the forefront of fashion's digital revolution that has recently appointed Nicola Formichetti as their Art Director.
“The SYKY Collective is a yearly initiative bringing together a
select group of digital designers, with the belief that
they hold the power to revolutionise the industry.
Over 12 transformative months, the Collective provides designers
with vital resources, education, mentorship, and opportunities
to accelerate their journey towards becoming the iconic
design
houses of tomorrow.”
KWK by Kay Kwok, worn by Bjork, Beyonce & Karol G, and Taskin Goec's “mixed-reality atelier” became part of the presentation curated by Nicola Formichetti.
IV. Momonary
The brand was co-founded by Zeng Yue and Fu Fanding in 2019. The new collection draws inspiration from cartography under the theme “Mappa Mundi." Following the fearless Momonary exploration team adorned in uniform, we embark on a journey to expand the boundaries of maps.
