HERE, THEN GONE
We all know someone like him. A friend, an acquaintance, a shadow that sometimes becomes light. He’s hard to pin down, almost impossible to read. One day he’s in the spotlight; the next, he’s gone without a trace.
He doesn’t say much, but when he does, everyone listens. Not because he demands attention, he is attention. He pulls away from the centre just enough to make you follow. Is this who he is, or just the shape he’s learned to wear? You never really know what he’s thinking. His silence isn’t empty - it’s total. You notice him even when he doesn’t say a word. He can be everywhere and nowhere at once, like he’s moving through a different layer of reality. He disappears for months, then reappears as if he had never been gone. Not cold, just quiet. He cares, in his way. Sees more than he shows. Listens more than he speaks. Not a narcissist, just a mystery with a heartbeat. Maybe it’s a shield. Maybe a strategy. Or perhaps he doesn’t know either.
A gift? A curse? Hard to say.
