REVOLT OF THE NOT-SO-CLEAN GIRL
she wakes up
not to perfect herself
but to remember she’s not here to please
no cold showers,
no gratitude journaling,
no glassy-eyed calm

she sticks out her tounge
grits her teeth
she doesn’t sparkle
she speaks when it’s inconvenient
she bleeds without apology

they told her to be soft -
she grew wild instead
they told her to glow -
she chose to burn

she doesn’t keep secrets in handbags
she writes them in the sky,
spray-painted in red
her rituals are not delicate
she rages
she rests
she reclaims
she is not quiet
she is not careful

her hair is messy with memory,
her hands are full of undone things,
her voice is a protest,
her body, a place
she doesn’t ask for space -
she takes it.

more likeable
less
less
she shrugs,
and laughs,
and leaves the room louder than she found it
